Editing Your Digital Images

from: While the use of digital cameras has made it easier for photographers to quickly check whether or not they like the shot they’ve taken, there are still usually flaws. And we thought it not be that pleasing to be shown off to others.

Not all of us have been gifted with the art of taking photos. And most of us, have limited knowledge on taking angles and balancing items such that the photo output may not be that agreeable as we want. In this aspect, many of us resort to photo editing with the onset of programs which made photos more satisfying to the eyes.

While image editors that are built-in to the computer’s OS (take Microsoft Paint, for example) can do very basic editing, power users such as professionals and web designers need more powerful programs.

This created the demand for photo editing softwares and there have been a number of photo editors common among photographers and web designers. In 1990, Adobe released the Adobe Photoshop and has become an industry brand in the image editing industry. Further developments through the recent years led to the birth of Corel Photo Paint of the Corel Graphics Suite, the GIMP which stands for GNU Image Manipulation, Fireworks and the like.

Corel PHOTO-PAINT of the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite specifically targets photographers who wish to edit their images using the computer. GIMP on the other hand, works like the Adobe Photoshop but the good thing about this photo editor is that it works well in variety of systems such as the Windows, Mac and Linux/Unix. Another version of GIMP was also developed by Scott Moschella for those who are using Photoshop interface.
These softwares made in possible to adjust the angles, color saturation and hues, effects and resolutions and other forms of image editing. Moreover, these softwares allow different image extensions which can be used for different applications.
The prestigious Google has also developed a basic photo editing and organizing software which can be useful to photographers who only need to crop, fix red eye and adjust the hues on their photos, such been named as Picasa.
Aside from these softwares available in the market, you can also edit your digital images online with the availability of other photo editors and digital image editors.
So the next time you don’t have that perfect smile at the pose that you want, simply editing it at these photo editors would give that satisfying smile.
